Bonfire Night Soup and Hot Dog Stall - Thursday 5 November, 2026
🔥 Warm up with East Dean Village Hall this Bonfire Night!
Join us on 5 November for a warming bowl of our popular homemade pumpkin soup and a tasty hot dog. Come hungry, enjoy a bonfire supper and help raise funds for your village hall.
Find us at the East Dean Village Hall food stall, Chapel Row – we look forward to feeding you!
Christmas Market - Sunday 29 November, 2026
Join us at East Dean Village Hall for a wonderfully festive Christmas Market, with around 16 independent makers and stallholders offering a wide range of locally made gifts, crafts and seasonal treats.
Browse jewellery, fabric gifts, honey and candles, artwork, soaps, Christmas decorations and cards, children’s gifts, cheeses and chutneys – and much more. Lydia Asccher will bring her beautiful repoussé work in copper and silver, while Chestnut Rosie will offer wooden crafts made from locally coppiced chestnut and decorated with artwork inspired by our local landscapes.
There will also be a Guess the Weight of the Christmas Cake competition and refreshments to enjoy in the Hall or take away.
10.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.
Entry is free – come along, enjoy coffee and mince pies, and get ahead with your Christmas shopping!
Plant Sale and Bacon Baps - Saturday May 1st, 2027
Back by popular demand – and on a Saturday this year!
 We’re planning a lovely selection of home-grown plants, together with plenty of other favourites for gardens large and small.
There will also be a bring and buy plant stall – bring along any spare plants from your garden and pick up something new  – as well as a plant-themed raffle, plus bacon baps, tea and coffee. Even if you don’t need any plants, come along for a chat and a browse.

We’re also exploring the possibility of offering a pre-order selection this year, so watch this space.
East Dean Art Fair - Spring 2027
Following the success of our first East Dean Art Fair, we are looking forward to holding a second one in 2027 and showcasing an even wider range of local artists and makers.
We’re particularly keen to include talented people who may not feel able to hold an exhibition of their own.
We’re currently finalising the date and will issue a formal invitation once this is confirmed. In the meantime, if you are an artist or creative working in the Chichester and South Downs National Park area and would be interested in taking part, we’d be very pleased to hear from you.
