At the centre of the village is the pond and green surrounded by many old houses built in the classic Sussex flint style. Nearby is the village pub, The Star & Garter, which is a favourite watering hole and restaurant for locals and visitors to the area.

The Hall was originally the village school built by the Church of England and financed by the Duke of Richmond. In the late 1950s, the old school became the Village Hall and in 2006 it was comprehensively refurbished with funds from Chichester District Council, Defra, the Heritage Lottery Fund, The Hyde Group, South Downs Joint Committee and local fund raising.

The Hall is regularly used for all sorts of events including Children’s Parties, Parish Council Meetings, Summer Hog Roasts, Weddings & Birthday Parties and wellbeing classes
